What is the GO WEST Diving Welcome Dive?

Prior to any boat diving activities, all divers, regardless of experience and level, will do a Welcome dive from shore. If you have a dive buddy you may dive with your buddy, if not you will join a guided Welcome dive.

Reasoning behind the welcome dive:

  • Your safety
  • Test your equipment and weights
  • Get acquainted with the Curacao diving environment
  • Enjoy your boat diving and be relaxed with all the above

Based on date of last dive and total number of dives we might request you take a short refresher course.

Is solo diving allowed?

For both your own safety and our dive shop policies and security standards we do not allow and support solo diving.

For single diver we offer daily 2-tank boat dives in the morning and 1-tank afternoon boat dives. Of course also guided shore dives can be arranged for you.

What Kind of Boat Diving Trips do you offer?
  • 2-tank boat diving every morning
  • 1 tank boat diving in the afternoon

Special boat diving trips to:

What are your boat diving departure times?

Morning 2-tank boat dives:

  • departure at 8:30 AM returning at 12:30 PM

Afternoon 1-tank boat dives:

  • departure at 2:00 PM returning at 4:00 PM
What kind of Boat Dive Packages do you offer?

Go West Diving offers 2-tank boat diving package staring with 3 days (6 dives). All our boat diving package incl. non limit shore diving for the days of boat diving.

What’s the water temperature?

The water temperature varies between 26°C (Jan-Feb) and 29°C (Sept/Oct). Most divers wear a 3mm shorty or full suit.

Are we allowed to take tanks and weights to other beaches for shorediving?

Absolutely! Curacao offers about 40 shore dives sites.

What kind of Snorkel Trips do you offer?

Go West Diving offers snorkel trips every Wednesday and Saturday.

Are there lockers rooms and what are its opening hours?

There are seperate locker rooms available. 

The locker room in our dive shop at Playa Kalki is open from 8-5 (some as diveshop). For the guests of the Kura Hulanda Lodge there is an extra locker rooms which can be accessed 24/7.

At All West Apartments, Rancho el Sobrino and the Nos Krusero Apartments there are own locker rooms on side which also can be accessed 24/7.

When I'm doing my course can my certified partner can come along?

Go West Diving is a 5 Star IDC center and known for high teaching standards. Please understand that for your own safety and teaching progress we do not allow certified friends / partners to come along.

Can Nitrox can be incl. in the Advanced Open Water course?

Absolutely! For just US$ 99 we incl. your Nitrox certification in your Advanced Open Water course. Some extra reading and an exam is required in order to receive your Nitrox certificate.

Do I have to dive a package in a row or can dive it on separate days?

Of course you don't have to dive it in a row - please make sure you tell us upfront that you don't want to dive it in a row.

Why and how do I have to pay a deposit?

A deposit for diving pre-bookings is required. 
In order to secure your spot on the dive boat, a deposit of US$50 will be charged to your credit card.
This amount will be credited to your account with Go West Diving at the time of check in. 
Deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable.

You may enter your credit card information including expiration date on our secure reservations page. Calling in your credit card details at +5999-8640102 is possible as well. 
Bank/wire transfers are not accepted.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Within 14 days of arrival - 25% of the agreed rate;
Within 3 to 7 days of arrival - 50% of the agreed rate;
Within 48 hours of arrival - 75% of the agreed rate;
No shows will be charged in full.

How long do Diving Courses take?
  • Discover Scuba Diver - half a day
  • Scuba Diver - 2 full days from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Open Water Diver - 4 full days from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, starting on Mondays and Thursdays
  • Advanced Open Water - 2 full days from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Nitrox EAN - 1 full day of instruction
  • EFR and Rescue Diver - 4 full days 8:30 am -4:30 pm
